Prospective Graduate Students

I will be reviewing applications for the Fall 2024 cycle.

I am particularly enthusiastic about working with students that have interests in addiction etiology and precision medicine, mixed method approaches (including advanced statistical methods), measurement, and community engagement.

People from underrepresented backgrounds and those with lived experience with substance use and addiction are strongly encouraged to apply.

You can read more about what I look for in applicants here.

I also suggest reading the BAL manual to see if our lab is a good fit for you.

My Mentorship Approach

I am committed to the success of my students and strive to support them in meeting all program milestones as well as their individual career goals. In addition to providing mentorship and training in substantive areas related to clinical psychology (including research and practice) and substance use, I aim to (a) build a foundation of safety, curiosity, and collaboration for all students regardless of their identities, backgrounds, or future goals, (b) encourage and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be useful beyond graduate training, and (c) model cultural humility and advocacy.
